The Story (AIMS, 1969)

This film is narrated by a young Matt Groening and is directed by his father, Homer Groening. Matt tells his little sister Maggie a bedtime-story about the various animals he and his other sister Lisa meet on a walk. His story is spontaneous and is in the folk-style of “There Was An Old Lady Who Sat On A Fly”, plus- young Matt does not yet realize a “Geoduck” is a clam!

This film is available on the Best of A/V Geeks 2 DVD-R

Plastics (Terry Sandler, 1973)

“Plastics, as an infinity of shapes, has become our constant companion. This non-narrated film takes us to factories where complex machinery, in rhythmic repetition, mold liquid plastic into the functional and decorative objects now so basic to our daily living.” Hypnotic assembly-line footage…and a great electro-acoustic soundtrack by Carl Stone.

This film is available on the Best of A/V Geeks 4 DVD-R

I Spy Racism

I Spy the 1965 TV show was the first U.S. show that featured a lead black actor, Bill Cosby, and helped usher in a more racially diverse primetime.
