Omega Man (1971)

We scheduled this film and the following day Charlton Heston passed away. While we often had issues with Heston's politics, we can't deny that he was a legendary actor who made some important sci-fi films in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Omega Man was just such a film. A remake of The Last Man on Earth, this film embraces the uncertainty of the times - social revolution, Cold War fears and apocalyptic technology. Show up early to get a good seat and see a short from the A/V Geeks archive. Donations are graciously accepted.

7pm, Friday, May 2nd, NC Museum of Natural Sciences 11 W. Jones St., Raleigh, NC
